Get hired through Upwork Talent Scout

I was checking my Facebook feed late last night and stumbled on Upwork’s post about Talent Scout. Sure, I’ve read about it from the Work Marketplace e-mail I received from Upwork marketing team a few days ago.

And like almost cute little racoons scavenging late at night (not with or for food this time), I browsed through the comment section checked the questions. Most questions were from newbies, but Upwork’s social media team replied with a link I wasn’t familiar with. So, the marupok that I am, I naturally clicked on it and spent about a good half an hour or so checking it out *facepalm*.

This was the landing page bait.

After “visually reading” (this is my personal term when I just look around what’s on the page *grins*) what a couple scrolls could offer, I clicked Join the List and it asked me to log-in to my Upwork account. If you currently have both client and freelancer account, make sure you log-in using the latter.

After answering what’s being asked on each page, I was able to submit my profile for review.

I do not know really know much about it yet since it’s fairly new, but always visit the site or Molongski Facebook page for updates. Turn your notifications on or subscribe to Molongsk dot com if you haven’t yet.

Anyway, here’s the screening process I found on Upwork’s website.

How does the screening process work?

  • Complete your submission to tell us about you and your capabilities. We’ll take a look and let you know if you’re a fit for our clients.
  • Take our Upwork Skill Certification assessments, which can take up to 3 hours depending on the skills being evaluated. Even if you’re not a fit, you can still display this on your Marketplace profile. Learn more about Upwork Skill Certifications
  • Interview with a specialized recruiter. Once we have an idea of the kind of roles that interest you, we’ll know when to consider you for exclusive roles with ourmost trusted clients.

When will you hear back?

The claim to look at applications every day. So they’ll get back to you soon (cross your fingers) if your skills and experience match what their clients tend to look for (or better yet, match a pending project they need).

Of course I saved the best for last. Click here for the direct link to Upwork’s Talent Scout page.

Goodluck and happy freelancing!
